Members overwhelmingly related to experiencing stuttering and word-finding difficulties, describing it as "fibro fog" that worsens with fatigue, stress, or before flare-ups, with many sharing how embarrassing it feels when words jumble, sentences trail off mid-thought, or they substitute the wrong word entirely. Several members offered practical coping strategies, including warning coworkers and loved ones in advance on difficult word days, asking others to help guess the intended word to keep conversations moving, laughing it off when possible, and trying supplements like Ginkgo Biloba or medications like Paxil and Adderall (though experiences with stimulants were mixed). A recurring theme was the frustration of knowing exactly what you want to say but being unable to retrieve the words, the fear of appearing incompetent at work or in public, and the comfort of realizing through the community that this deeply isolating symptom is actually shared by many.

OMG Yes I do a lot of the time My Rheumatologist recommended Gingko Biloba. I just started taking it. I don't know if it will do anything or not but I do feel very stupid myself when I go to speak an I either studder or I can't speak right so I just blame the fibromyalgia

Ah, the dreaded Fibro fog. It happens to me just about every day. For me, I can't find the next word in the sentence. It happens more frequently as I get more tired. It's been going on for at least 15 years, and the people around me have taken to guessing the word I want so the conversation can continue. It happened when I was working and now when I'm not. Your nearest and dearest will help you out. Any random person who looks at you weird or makes rude comments is not worth the energy of a response. Good luck.

Other than being able to speak normally, does anyone have a problem with writing? I have noticed that I also have to stop and think of how to spell words that I have known how to spell my whole life or how to compose sentences...it's almost like the same problem as I have with speaking words...

OMG!!! I was totally having this problem last summer. Occasionally I do now but I feel like I was in such a horrible depression last summer everything was OFF. BRAIN FOG BAD, Id catch myself doing the most stupid things like one time I got in the shower with my bra. That one I remembered. I would forget things like crazy, balance was off, tired a lot the list goes, but seeing you say that I had to respond.
