Has Anyone Tried Accupuncture? Anyone In My Area Know Of A Good Provider? How Do I Choose A Provider?
I am wondering if anyone has tried acupuncture for just general pain or only for specific area pain. Any recommendations for a provider in my area? How do you select a provider? Once you start do you have to continue to return for more treatments? Thanks for all your help!
I've done acupuncture and it has helped me with pain and anxiety. It can help with so many areas. Usually once a week is optimal until you start improving. Some cities have low cost acupuncture clinics where they go by income. Acupuncture is also quite relaxing. I feel so good after a treatment. If you don't feel good after several treatments I'd look for someone else.
I haven't tried it yet, but know of quite a few people it has helped. You will have go for multiple treatments because frequency of treatment iis part of how it works.
I have tried acupuncture and it didn't help me. I did like having it done as I felt kind of pampered. However, it didn't help with any pain or discomfort.
I have had acupuncture with the lowest electrical pulses in my hand because it became " stuck" . Was very difficult to move. The treatment was amazing . It lasted for 8 months. I have to go back. I also had it tried on parts of my backside. But my stronger, more firm muscles were like rocks so the electrical impulses right off the bat hurt a lot and left me in pain. I was an abused child and my left side is my defensive side. It's always super tight. But the remaining needles helped with the surface fibromialga. I believe that i need medication for my tension etc. But where i live, they don't like to give much for that kind of thing. Talk therapy....well I've had that for years and it doesn't work for me . Over here, they diagnose fibromialga but they don't acknowledge it as a life altering condition. They only give me lyrica for mine. Any advice would be helpful.
Hey @A MyFibroTeam Member, can you give me that info? I'm in Chicago too and can get to Skokie def, not sure about Lake Forest tho. Thanks!
