Does Anyone Have Any Form Of Narcolepsy?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I sometimes have occasions where my body seems to fall asleep but I can still hear everything, Does anyone have this? I also have been sleeping at the drop of a hat whereas I managed on very little sleep most of my life.

I get this a lot! Almost daily, it's very bizarre, I can hear but not respond to them or open my eyes! I can even do this in an upright position. The other day my daughter took a photo of me 'asleep' with my hands on the laptop as if I was typing (I had been working) my body just shut off! Scary

Could it be absent seizures? How many anti seizure meds are you on? This sounds like what you are describing

This falling asleep and still hearing everyone is definitely Narcolepsy. The brain is not functioning right. And from what medical reports I’ve read, it is linked to fibro patients a whole lot. Narcolepsy
N+C that’s called, and the type where we just fall asleep constantly (without losing control of our body) but just staying still) that’s N-C.

Wow! This is exactly what I've been describing to my doctors! My neurologist group said they can't see me because I owe too much money!
Does anyone know if this means you can't drive a car?

Continuous Positive Air Pressure. See my pinboard. It gently blows humidified air into your nostrils while you sleep. Stops snoring, mouth breathing, apnea (which is when you stop breathing in your sleep. ) Mine was prescribed by a pulmonologist who does sleep studies. Are there any sleep clinics where you live?
