My rheumatologist (sp?) diagnosed me with fibo without trying any of the tender points. I had been seeing him for a long time so he knew me well. I seemed to keep having pain so one day I sat down and concentrated on what the pain felt like and then I realized it was muscle not joint pain. When I told him that he immediately said Fibro. He then put me on Gabapentin and that helped. So that is my story.
I have the neck, shoulders, hips and chest points along with my knees.
I also have osteoarthritis so if it's not one that gets me, it's the other.
Mauve maiden, having pain in all 4 quadrants rings a bell with me but I don't recall who told me or where I read this,

My rheumatologist in Canada tested my pressure points and I was positive for many, but she said pressure points are not needed for diagnosis. They go by your history and symptoms and length of pain ie: 3-6 months
Thanks to all that replied. I have a doctors appointment today so I will know more as to what my next move is.
