I am having a horrible time with fatigue I used take olive leaf extract and that did that for me.bug I had surgery and i have l lupus and Sjogrens the surgery cause a flare and I was on steroids for a long time.now i cant get the fatigue under control help
I had 4 cups of coffee and later I will have an energy drink (large) and I still will be exhausted. I make myself a little list of thing I hope to do. My mind is more fatigued with trying to think straight through all this brain fog. I always say it could be worse. Stay strong my friend and gentle hugs!
Modafinil is a medication that is used for narcolepsy and I am not familiar with the side effects long-term. I take a low dose of Adderall XR for my ADHD. Adderall is addictive if used by someone who has an addictive personality which thank goodness I do not. The funny thing is, because I have ADHD, I don't get hyped up with it or coffee - I get focused but not hyper. With the chronic fatigue I just try to listen to my body and if I am not sleeping at night I will take Ambien for three nights to reset my circadian rhythms I take 1/4 of a pill. I do a vitamin powder drink that is synergized with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Hydration and some form of mild exercise - different for everyone. Meditation and Tai Chi also energizes me. When I do house chores I rest in between each chore.
I would suggest asking your primary care doctor or specialist about Modafinil. My insurance required a sleep study first before they'd allow the doctor to prescribe. It helps greatly with fatigue and your ability to focus. My sister uses Modafinil and I'm on Adderall. Adderall can keep you up if you take it too late and have you feeling like a zombie. It also can be addictive. I am on 15 MG twice a day and it helps so much with my energy levels and ability to stay awake. It's a lot easier to be prescribed by your doctor. There wasn't any extra testing needed to have it approved through insurance.
@A MyFibroTeam Member, Wellbutrin is not for fatigue it's for depression.
Hi, I also have really bad fatigue. I have been taking Wellbutrin for it. I have been on it for years. It does work somewhat.
