Members shared their varied experiences navigating menopause alongside fibromyalgia, with many describing intense night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings, fatigue, and uncertainty about which symptoms belonged to which condition. Several members discussed medical interventions that helped them, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT), hysterectomies for endometriosis or heavy bleeding, antidepressants like Lexapro, the Mirena coil, and supplements such as black cohosh and evening primrose oil, though responses to these treatments varied widely. A recurring theme was the emotional and physical toll of managing multiple overlapping conditions, the challenge of finding relief when bodies are sensitive to hormones, and the importance of working closely with gynecologists and trying different approaches until finding what works for each individual.

Yes started 4 years ago. My anxiety levels triple along with many other issues. I am on hormone replacement and it has helped a lot but I do believe it makes my fibro worse especially getting even less sleep than before

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I was put on premarin/provera and I nearly went crazy! I had horrible mood swings. Crying, and then screaming and throwing things. I couldn't take it. I hope the black cohash works for you. Its like the fibro, we keep trying stuff until we find out what helps. Gentle hugs
