After my GP appointment this afternoon I've been told my sudden onset of chronic hip pain of the left hip is lightly to be a trapped nerve and I'm being sent for physio! Anybody had a similar experience with fibro or is it totally unrelated and just bad luck?

Members connected over sudden hip pain and trapped nerve concerns, with many sharing similar experiences of hip and sciatic pain that they attributed to fibromyalgia, herniated discs, or chronic constipation from pain medications. Several members recommended practical relief strategies including moist heat pads, heated car seat covers, Chinese remedial massage, chiropractic care, Salonpas patches, and medications like codeine or tramadol paired with laxatives like lactulose and senna to manage constipation side effects. A recurring theme was the importance of trying physiotherapy while staying open to alternative treatments, listening to your body about what works best, and finding ways to manage both the pain and the medication side effects that can complicate recovery.

Interesting.. my mom doesn't have any fibro but has this hip pain quite often for which she began phys. Therapy... but it's very good that you sought help, go to the specific specialists for each issue for the best possible results...
But whatever hurts for me, moist heat pads are one of the most amazing things ever. It has never failed to help my back, knees, hamstrings, calves, head, etc. I gave a plug-in heat pad to my mom for her hip too and she was pleasantly surprisrd.

I had trapped nerve in my wrist and they went in and released it. It feels so much better already and I have 4 more weeks before it's healing time is up.

i have found that i have issues with my lower back and my discs, i have herniated discs in my lower back and that in turn, i feel sometimes when they shift it causes pain in my right and left side that runs down my leg and wraps itself around my ankle, i have found that massage helps to relax the area and chiropractic care helps to move the parts of me that are out of place back in place which for me i find helps with the leg pain that can really make it very uncomfortable to walk, sit, stand etc and sometimes it will even shift to my left leg, heat helps alot i also use salonpas the patches with heat and that seems to relax the pain enough to be able to function when i do have problems

I found physiology to be useless. I go to Chinese Remedial Massage. It kills, but works! This young man climbed over me & then used his knee to massage into the hip area/buttock. I thought I was going to die! 6 weeks no pain, no bursitis down legs. Amazing. I said I've had 3 cortisone injections in both hips, but this was a new method for me. I'm going back this week.
