We have solid wood floors and tiles instead of carpet as its easier to hoover with a light weight hoover and then mop. ( I pay the kids to do it ) We have a low rise walk in shower as I was finding it difficult to get in and out of the bath plus my blood pressure goes through my boots when I have a bath. Sadly that's as far as it goes with adaptations. I need a second hand rail up the stairs and could do with a new path and steps around the garden but these are still on our to do list.

I took out all the carpets so I wouldn't have to vaccum them anymore. Also changed all the doorknobs to egg shaped ones so they were easier to turn when my hands hurt (You can just hook the knob between fingers and turn don't have to close your hand). All faucets have levers instead of knobs for ease of use. Still have to put in a hand rail by my front step and changing my shower to a more handicap user friendly one soon.
