Members deeply connected over the powerful link between traumatic experiences and fibromyalgia onset, with many sharing that their symptoms intensified or began following profound losses, accidents, or periods of overwhelming stress. Several members described cascading traumatic events including multiple deaths of loved ones within short periods, serious car accidents causing physical injury, childhood abuse and neglect, medical complications from surgeries, and years of caretaking responsibilities that left their nervous systems in prolonged fight-or-flight mode. A recurring theme was the recognition that fibromyalgia often emerges when the body finally reaches a breaking point after enduring too much emotional or physical trauma, with many members finding validation in understanding this connection and honoring their own resilience through decades of hardship.

I can. I'm very sure epidurals in my back brought this on for me. I even had brain surgery & never felt this way...

I believe my entire life of abuse was the starting point for it. The big stressor that pushed me over the edge was extreme stress at work. Plus my parents stopped talking to me (which in ways has been a blessing because I'm no longer being abused by my mother) then I found out they moved to Florida. I found out on Facebook when my cousin mentioned her aunt had moved there. I do not know where my parents live. I feel abandoned. One day an incident at work just pushed me over the edge. I was a mess and truly believe I suffered a minor nervous breakdown. It was bad.

Is an epidural like a spinal? I had a spinal when I had a c-section and had terrible headache so bad I couldn't lift my head to feed my baby. They explained that the needle caused a hole and I was leaking spinal fluid. After three days of terrible headaches they did a spinal patch. Almost instantly the headaches were gone.

Yes. Age 11 caring for baby sister and brother. Put in foster care. Returned to mother who had new baby... age 12 caring for 3 children. Placed in foster homes. By age 14 ish. I hurt all over. I believe my fibro started then. But was manageable. Age 22 was raped by 2 men. Fell into depression. Age 24 got pregnant.. symptoms got worst. Age 26 pregnant again. Age 28 pregnant again.. fibro seemed to increase... finally age 30 dr diagnosed me with fibro. Age 31 pregnant again. They say pregnancy can speed up fibro or increase the pain from so much happening within ur body.
There are other things that happened to add to stressor but to much to type.... some day I'll write a book about it lol
