When Do See A Neurologist?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am experiencing twitches in upper arms and hands. I had surgery on both hands for carpal tunnel and yet the twitches still occur. Also my eyes twitch occasionally for years. Concern between the body twitches and fibro fog is it something more or just my fibro symptoms.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. Well, I've had twitches forEVER ... eye lids, arms , legs. Wherever. I've been known to get "air" during body twitches in bed. Don't want to give medical advice, just sharing an opinion. I watched it closely and most of this came during a flare-up, or from being too tired and/or stressed. I too had carpal tunnel releases and was checked for pinched nerves etc. All those twitchy things are "standard" fibro symptoms, and that holds true to me. I've seen a couple neurologists throughout my life. They always check for past strokes or MS. They never came up with a reason, I stopped worrying about it and can chalk it up to fibro. Sometimes I can't decide if it's time to get medical help or if it's time to wait and see. My wait and see method usually confirms it's fibro. But if you are having them for "no reason"... like no flare-up or not tired or stressed, (when does that ever happen tho? Lol) and the symptoms are causing what seem more severe issues, you certainly should get checked. Ruling out fibro gets expensive... just my thoughts.

My eye lid twitches occasionally - just figured it was an overactive nerve. Since it's not often enough to worry - never think too much of it.
