Itching
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi, just wondering if anyone else suffers from really itchy skin? So bad that when you scratch it you bleed?

Not quite to that degree but always at nighttime where it can keep me up for hours! Have to keep dousing myself with a cold flannel until I fall asleep! I thought it was initially withdrawal from Lyrics which I was on for 10 years but has continued well after.

I just asked a similar question yesterday. I don't usually scratch, because I don't want to break the skin so I rub. However sometimes I want to! Itching is associated with flares. Mine get worse with activity or heat (like wearing layers of clothing). I don't really have any answers as far as how to treat it. I just try to avoid things that bring on the "itchys".

I have read that some side effects of certain medications are itchiness. I do have it sometimes.

I do, at night. I don't think it's medication, or I think I would be itchy all the time. I take benedryl sometimes when it's bad....really helps, but makes me pretty sleepy.
