Members shared their experiences getting MRIs for severe migraines, with many finding cervical spine issues like degenerative disc disease or spinal stenosis as contributing factors rather than brain abnormalities, offering reassurance that normal scans are common but still worth pursuing for peace of mind. Several members discussed medication strategies that helped reduce their migraines, particularly topiramate (an anti-epilepsy drug), with some sharing alternative options like Zonisamide for those who experienced side effects, and noting that combining treatments or adjusting doses can be necessary over time. A recurring theme was the importance of advocating for yourself with doctors, being open to trying different approaches when current treatments stop working, and finding comfort in knowing that while answers may not always be clear-cut, the community understands the daily struggle of living with debilitating headaches.

I also had brain and cervical MRI. The only problem is the DDD on my neck. Doctor says that is the reason for my migraines.

I have chronic daily migraines, had the cranial and cervical MRI and it showed multi level degenerative disc disease. With a noted small perineural cyst on the left neural foramen... Neuro never said anything either way just has me on a cocktail of meds to keep migraines at "ease"

They did my head and neck and found that I had spinal stenosis in my neck and and degenerative disc disease that contributed to my migraines but at least they did not find a brain tumor or abnormality which would have been devestating.
