I found a hot-tub to be helpful. Intex Products has an inexpensive inflatable one (you can only use it in warm weather if using it outside) it costs about $4oo. It has massage jets and is really relaxing. I use it before bed and find I sleep better.
I live in England and I'm on Gabapentin, Amitriptyline, metazapine, and I have reflexology I once a week. It helps. I also take vitamin B12, Magnesium, D3-forte, Rosehip, and lecithin. They help me a great deal. My flare have calm down. I sleeping much better. My IBS is much better too. Hope this helps anyone. Gentle hugs everyone.
I cannot take massages, I have tried several different people but the pain after is just too much. My chiropractor used to help, he is gentle but cannot take it anymore either. I have tried acupuncture, hypnosis, and Reiki did not notice any difference at all! But, I keep looking and trying things. The thing that helps me the most is a trip to the mountains. The pure beauty and relaxation is my cure. The first time I went to Colorado(I'm from Mo.) my sister called me and said she did not recognize my voice, I sounded like the old me! I go other places but does not have the same effect as the mountains. I guess its because your closer to God in the mountains!
I go for 1 1/2 of myofacial release massage therapy at my chiropractor's office every 2 weeks. It's much different than going to have a massage at say a spa. I've been getting massages now for probably 6 years. It didn't start out right away at every 2 weeks, I'd say only the last 2 years has been that frequent. I couldn't function without my regular massages. Finding the right massage therapist is the key. Just like finding the right hair stylist, doctor or therapist is extremely. Sometimes you have to try a few to find the right one but when you do, it's worth it. I've been seeing my guy now for over 2 years. Hope he stays forever. 😉
I have had acupuncture and finds this works but nhs stopped it as they said cos it was a long term effect they felt is was not worth while, I could go private but the doctor that does it only has a private practice once week but it is too far away for me to get to, I tried other acupuncture with other doctor but found that there way of doing it was not benefiting me as it was with the othe Doctor x
