I would really like an answer to this question too. I have all autoimmune symptoms happening and year my diagnoses is fibromyalgia.. I have slight fevers all the time, pain accompanies that, always feeling drained after the smallest chore. Is it autoimmune?
To answer on is fibro auto immune disease..I was given a leaflet from my local, hospital rhumy..it said on it that fibro was not an auto immune disease.
My doctor told me and I have been told by other's that yes it does affect your immune system. That is why he suggested a flu shot think about it this way when you get a cold or the flu do you notice it last you alot longer then the average 7-10 days for a cold. And you hold on to a cough like no one's business. So to answer your question yes it is an auto- immune disease. For me it affects my joints have you ever notice the pain bother's your fingers, toes, lower back everywhere you have a joint it bother's my joints. And of course Chronic Fatigue I have had since before 2010.
I just got diagnosed again with ehler Danlos 3, hypermobility syndrome . The dr. Took blood for autoammune testing which I must say came back all good . So I don't know if it was for eds or fibro he was testing it for me. So good question.
