Being newly diagnosed w FM, I was wondering what you use to get into stage 4 sleep for insomnia? I take Curcumin and Limbrel for pain. My Doc said muscle relaxers r only proven drugs to do it, and she used to lead case studies in FM. The one I tried for 3 nights made insomnia worse.
Thanks!

Yes, we must sleep and go through the deep sleep cycles to heal. We also are often sensitive to drugs. If you havent slept well for a Long time, I think think the goal is to find a drug that promotes restorative sleep for you gradually. It should be started at a low dosage and gradually increased.Have u already tried Trazadone? Elavil? Flexeril? Ambien? These are among the drugs that allow for us to expereince the various cycles of sleep. I have also expereinced healing and good sleep with low dosages of Klonopin .5 mg It was difficult to get off of though.
A natural help for our seretonin levels which promotes getting asleep and starting sleep is 5-HTP. It is a precursor to seritonin. Take 50 mg at bedtime and increased up to 300 mg.If one has a reacción it can be taken with food through the day. Some people can sleep with this. In my case i take it with melas and still need a medication for sleep. Anyhow over the run, it could be useful for you and since it is natural, there are no side effects.
Thanks all. Melatonin, sleep drugs, etc do not work for me. Doc said to heal we need to get into stage 4. I take a tsp of Benedryl now, but still sleep very light.
I take Trazadone combined with Atarax. Sometimes I ad chamomile tea, I find that relaxing.
