Members shared mixed experiences with IV lidocaine infusions, which are typically administered over an hour at pain clinics and can be repeated every four weeks to calm overactive nerves. Several members reported that the treatment provided only short-lived relief lasting about a week, while others found it helpful, though some described it as feeling invasive compared to other pain management options like trigger point injections or nerve blocks. A recurring theme was the frustration of trying multiple pain treatments with varying degrees of success, and members expressed hope and curiosity about whether lidocaine infusions might offer relief when other interventions have fallen short.

I remember this helping but it felt invasive to me and it lasted a week or so. Hopefully it helps! It sounds like you haven't had any relief for a very long time. I've also done the nerve block procedure that helped but again felt really invasive as an ongoing treatment option. Now I get trigger point injections every other week. It's about 10 shots of 2% Lidocaine on my tender points, Mostly my neck, shoulder blades and back.I have been also getting them in my temples and back of head for migraines. It really helps although at times it feels a bit medieval.

Pain clinics are the only places that offer these kind of treatments.

It's an iv of lidocaine over an hour and you can do it every four weeks... It's supposed to calm the nerves down to get you pain under control.
