Does Trama Cause Fibro
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I read that most people with fibromyalgia have suffered some kind of trauma in their life. Whether it be physical or mental. Is there any truth t o this?

Yes, trauma is a big trigger for fibro. Any trauma. Some bodies just can't cope, it sets off our flight/fright response which doesn't ever turn off! Post viral infection is a trigger too...

really interesting reading all your posts and for us that have suffered mental and physical cruelty my heart goes out to you xxx
i find it also interesting that people who dont believe us and judge us as lazy or making it up etc that were all so needing to find an answer! i certainly would love to id love to be able to lift weights again and run on the treadmill teach a class aerobics that was my old life and i miss it ,i like many of you proberbly have lost friends through it as yes wed love to go out drinking dancing but you have a bath to get ready and that is as far as it gets ! gazoonked! so friends get fed up and gradually slide into the background ! what im saying is that none of us wished for this or asked for it and how sad it is that if doctors read all our posts they would know how frustrated we are trying to put the pieces together
anyway im sure that youve had enough of my going on! i send love and hugs to all :) xxx

I was not diagnosed until after I hurt myself pretty bad. Stress and depression can trigger it as well.
