Members shared a wide variety of medications they use to manage fibromyalgia pain, with the most common being Cymbalta, gabapentin, Tramadol, and muscle relaxers, though many noted that no single medication provides complete relief and results vary greatly from person to person. Several members offered lifestyle strategies that have helped them cope, including using heating pads, prioritizing rest without guilt, limiting caffeine and sugar, adding daily fruits and vitamins, and gentle exercise when possible. A recurring theme was the need to accept that life changes after fibromyalgia and to forgive yourself for needing more rest, with many emphasizing that listening to your body and making adjustments is just as important as any medication.

Definitely a heating pad or blanket! I'm on cymbalta, lyrica and norco. I also am supposed to be taking iron, vitamin D and b6. I sometimes run out for awhile. Lots of sleep and forgiving myself for being lazy. A lot. My body has to have the rest. It's not optional anymore.

Thiamine (vitamin B1) , Adcal D3 (calcium and vitamin D), Amitriptyline, 18/500mg co-codamol is working great much safer than stronger meds which I found made the fibro pains much worse. Do not drink tea, coffee or fizzy drinks as they contain caffeine which also causes our pains to flare up much worse. take an apple, banana and an orange each day and a yoghurt. Pains are greatly reduced.

Forgiveness. That is a good way of putting it.

I'm taking Cymbalta & Tramadol. There is certainly no majic pill though. As far as I can tell, and ma trying desperately to accept, life is never the same after Fibro strikes! You also need to make lifestyle changes. It is impossible to keep up with all the things we did pre-Fibro. Rest when your body tells you to. That has been the best method of pain control for me. That and a heating pad!

Good to hear. I need to try it. I think it will help me with weight loss too which should help the pain some.
