Members discussed claims by Dr. Rodger Murphree about treating fibromyalgia without medication, with the conversation quickly turning toward skepticism about whether he was legitimately offering help or simply trying to sell books to a vulnerable community. Several members emphasized the value of taking a holistic approach that combines proper nutrition, clean eating, adequate sleep, stress management, and medications when needed, sharing personal successes with strategies like drinking only water and green tea, taking turmeric, and identifying individual triggers. A recurring theme was the importance of feeling empowered through lifestyle changes while remaining cautious of anyone claiming to cure fibromyalgia, balancing hope for relief with the wisdom that comes from experience navigating a condition that often leaves people feeling out of control.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. I agree with what you are saying. The dr who helped me most used a combination of things. He told me to drink only water green tea, take Turmeric and gave me medication that I take besides eating clean. I've been doing so much better than I was before. I am defintely not discounting the nutrition. That saying we are what we eat is so very true. Sleep when we can get it helps so much. I think fibro makes a lot of us feel like we have no control. Knowing our own personal triggers is one of the best things that has helped. Although sometimes there is no rhyme or reason. Stress is the worst. And unfortunately dealing with family and friends who don't understand and fighting with drs who don't want to believe while we feel really awful at the same time. Best wishes always-Em

Hey Robert! Well I've currently bought his book and I'm finding it very interesting to say the least. I do plan on giving his outlook a try hopefully soon. I'll let you know if it helps. :)

Hi @A MyFibroTeam Member. Hippie all is well with you. I looked him up and he has, stones good ideas about proper diet and was also talking about diuretics and they are harmful and that it robs us of b1 which effects memory etc. He's a chiropractor and naturalist. I went to his website and it just seemed like he was trying to sell books. We have to be so careful because we have a big target on us. Most of us do eat properly but even then who knows what's going on our food? I wish you the very best. If in wrong please let me know. That's what I got out of the website. It bothers me when people claim to have the answer and don't share it when so many people suffer unless you buy his or her book.

I am always wary of anyone who says they can cure fibro, but not against hearing from
someone who thinks a change in diet can help fibro. I've seen that it can and it's some small way for us to feel like we have some control over this illness. I don't discount meds, as they have been helpful For me, but I think the more proactive we can be with diet, exercise, sleep, relaxation and wellness techniques, etc., the better we will feel, and the sense of control will also help with any anxiety and depression we are feeling as well.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I love what you have said here. I only drink decaf tea and water. As long as I stay in a clean diet I feel better.
