Has anyone else have warping fingernails and toenails? Ever since I have had fibro my nails warp. It looks like I smashed my nails. They grow out wavy. Sometimes it's not so bad, but other time it's super bad. I was wondering if it's fibro related. Dr has told me it might be autoimmune problems but couldn't find anything wrong. Any help would be much appreciated.

Members overwhelmingly confirmed experiencing nail changes with fibromyalgia, describing warping, ridges, waviness, brittleness, peeling, and cracking that many had never connected to their condition until the conversation. Several members shared practical strategies including taking biotin or hair-skin-nail supplements, eating jello daily for protein, using solar oil for peeling, lightly filing ridges, and considering acrylic nails as a cosmetic option. A recurring theme was the validation of shared experiences and the suggestion to rule out other causes like thyroid problems or vitamin B deficiency, with many members expressing relief at finally understanding why their nails had changed.

I take biotin for hair & nails. My hair starting to thin as well as my nails, so I put myself on a high dosage. It took several months, but I'm noticing new hair growth and my nails grow, but crack and break.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, Yes this is true. I read about it in a book: Fibromyalgia & Myalfacial Pain Syndrome & The Fibromyslgia Adovocate by Devin Stantanyl MD.
Along with waves/ridges with the nails, hair thins, and problems with the skin. I suffer from these and take "Biotin."..or products for " Hair, Skin, and Nails.".
I got a lot of info out if her books which I bought when I first got my diagnose in 1998. She is a doctor who came down with Fibromyalgia. I recently bought these two books for me niece who came down with Fibromyalgia. I got them for 0.01 cents each and paid shipping & handling through amazon.com.

Yes, I have noticed a few nails being a bit warped and with ridges. I have an autoimmune disease and Fibro and never thought about it being related but it could possibly be now that you mention it.
