Members shared mixed experiences with epidurals and nerve procedures for fibromyalgia pain, with some finding significant relief from epidurals and nerve blocks while others reported the treatments made their pain worse or caused side effects like burns and feverish skin. Several members described practical details, including that insurance may only cover one treatment area at a time, sedation is available and recommended for certain procedures, and some doctors require clear lungs before performing epidurals. A recurring theme was the highly individual nature of these treatments, with members emphasizing the importance of thorough research, detailed discussions with doctors, and understanding that what works well for one person may not work or could even worsen symptoms for another.

I have had epidurals and they worked for me and my Pain Dr. did them and I could have one done on my lower back and 3 months later I could have one done on my neck. My insurance won't pay for both at the same time. It has been over 2 years since I have had one due to my asthma and other breathing problems my Pain Dr. will not do it until your lungs are clear and I have been off the meds that my regular Dr. puts me on I have to wait at least two weeks after the meds are done. Sending gentle hugs.

No Rachel ,I have not had an epidural or nerve burn for fibromyalgia. Who is recommending this , why and to what part of the body. This sounds interesting but a bit scary to me. I have Fibro all over my body ,mostly my neck and shoulders and above my elbows and in my feet so I am trying to imagine where they would block a nerve. Private message me and we can talk by phone if you want to discuss this. I would love to know more. Hugs to you!!!
