I can only stand up in one place for a short period of time, I began to ache and have to sit down. Also, at night when I am asleep and want to roll over, my hip area feels like an elephant is sitting on it and it is extremely hard to roll over. I don't understand it.

Members connected over shared experiences of debilitating hip and pelvic pain that makes standing difficult and rolling over in bed feel like an elephant is sitting on them, with many noting this pain has been present for years and worsens during fibromyalgia flares. Several members found relief through consistent heat therapy (heating pads, warm baths with Epsom salts, staying bundled up), memory foam mattress toppers, and gentle strengthening exercises, while one member shared that medical marijuana taken at bedtime dramatically improved their ability to stand and work without being impaired during the day. A recurring theme was the profound relief of knowing they were not alone in experiencing these trigger point pains, numbness and tingling in fingers and feet, and the need to move slowly and find balance when transitioning from sitting to standing.

I have the exact same problems. The only thing that has worked for me is medical marijuana. It helps me to sleep and I can stand on my legs for long periods now. Couldn't stand or walk for more than 15 minutes before. Now I've put in 8 hour shifts and on my feet that whole time. It has been a miracle for me and has given me my life back. I only use it before I go to bed, so I am functioning all day without being high.

That because this is one of our trigger points , this is daily for me. I can stand and sit thanks to my exercising that's helped strengthen muscles in that area. It's still a painful spot though .

Wow, I didn't realize how many people hurt in the same area as I do. I can't walk very far before my hips and legs start giving me problems. When this happens and I have to get into my car I have a very hard time lifting my legs to get them inside. I always have a problem sitting down and standing up because my hips hurt. I have to find my balance upon standing and then I start of slow and pick up speed, lol. And my speed is that of an 80 year old! Of course I have to chug along because there is stuff I need to do. But if I'm standing still my hips and legs hurt from the first second. My hubby knows this and always finds me a place to sit down.

It's just another fun part of Fibro. I used to spend 8 hours a day on my feet. Now 5 minutes in one spot is more than I can handle.
