I am new to this group :) haven't slept in 5 nights and feel like I'm losing my mind. I feel awful, the worst I've ever felt! Looking for anyone with help and suggestions. My sleep problems are due to all over muscle twitches that only happen at night. As I feel myself begin to fall asleep, my hand, neck, shoulder, etc. will spasm and wake me up! Anyone else experiencing this? Know what will help? Thank you!

Members rallied around someone experiencing all-over muscle spasms and twitches that prevented sleep for five nights, identifying the symptoms as likely Restless Leg Syndrome or fibromyalgia-related, which can affect the entire body rather than just the legs. Several members shared that gabapentin or Lyrica provided dramatic relief from spasms and twitching, though some noted weight gain as a side effect, while others recommended natural approaches like magnesium and CoQ10 supplements, hot Epsom salt baths with apple cider vinegar, meditation apps like CALM, and therapies such as acupuncture, chiropractic care, and warm pool exercise. A recurring theme was the delicate balance between managing debilitating symptoms and concerns about medication dependence or side effects, with many members emphasizing that quality sleep is essential and sometimes prescription medications become necessary when natural methods aren't enough, especially when trying to care for children or maintain employment.

I have done acupuncture for years, but current finances I have had to forego it to eat. Chiropractor, too. I also like arthritis classes in a warm pool, that is my current thing. I also employ mediation through chakra balancing CD. I often fall asleep during it, but I know I am still receiving on a different level. My blood pressure had dropped drastically in the last six months. :-)

That is harsh when meds do not agree with you, of people I know with chronic pain that don't want or can't have drugs- it seems popular to use meditation to help control/ deal with the pain and other stuff. I have just started doing it so I'm a total novice but it does seem useful. I just have to remember to do it! I keep forgetting and if I set a timer for it that seems odd but it's what I have to do to do it. I have felt even some direct pain relief during a mediating session, so I am committed to learning it a bit more. There are so many techniques to try and then you can make it your own. I use to do a lot of yoga and that is like physical meditation. My friend told me acupuncture helped her a lot, and I go to a chiropractor are you with anyone like that? Sorry for so many questions 😌

Oh, when your group had to be cancelled because of the cold room, it would've been nice if someone had put a note on the door, or a quick text, for a meeting elsewhere.

it's a shame no one opted for a cup of coffee in a local café, so there still could've been fellowship.

If it helps it's worth it.
