I recently had a stone blasted, and it wasn't bad at all. They put me totally out for the procedure, which took about an hour. I had a nice sized bruise on my back and was pretty beat up afterwards, but pain meds helped a lot. I find out in two weeks whether it has all passed or not. I would much rather have the procedure as a preventative than to be caught in an emergency situation.
I had lithotrispy on a very large stone and then that's when the fibromyalgia pain started but I wans't diagnosed for sometime afterward. . I did have a problem with the medication causing constipation and fatigue four days afterwards that kept me in the bed for two days. I will have the procedure again if my stone gets to big, but I will tell you it took months to pass all of the stone (sand) and two months afterwards I passed a chunk. Hope you do well.
Monday should be fine!
@A MyFibroTeam Member - thank you for answering. Your post made me feel better. That is what I have been told. How long do you realistically think it will be before I can go back to work. I'm having it done on a Wednesday?
The adage why fix it if it's not broken, I had several mobile gall stones about 12 yrs ago, it was about 10 days after they were found that I was rushed into surgery.
It's best to get surgery performed before trouble strikes. Also had an emergency appendices. That was scary
