As with Any meds long terms can cause major side effects. Topirimate can cause acid to build up in the blood which is not good. Taking any meds for a long time your body gets use to it and your body will resist it and it won't work. I am taking that combine with phentermine for weight loss to control my diabetes because most diabetes meds cant be taken with cymbalta which i also take

I took this for a couple of years. My med doctor took me off of it because it made me stupid and couldn't preform my job at work at all. I don't remember if it made me dizzy. All I remember is it caused me to forget how to do simple job duties.
