Members shared their experiences with fibromyalgia-related brain fog and memory issues, describing it as forgetting appointments, struggling to find words mid-conversation, losing the ability to multitask, and feeling a persistent mental fogginess that makes thinking clearly or staying on task difficult. Several members mentioned practical coping strategies including writing things down immediately, doing brain games to exercise neural pathways, taking vitamins to support cognitive function, and retracing steps when something is misplaced. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of brain fog, with members expressing fear about memory loss, frustration when loved ones don't understand or correct them, and the painful sense that fibromyalgia is stealing their sharpness and sense of self.

You look very young and forgetting things is a part of it. I didn't notice fibro fog until 5 or 6 years ago and thought it was cause I was getting older. But now I pretty sure most of it is because of the fibro and I probably had it before I realized it and people started commenting on it. For me it's not just forgetting (an it's a lot of different forgetting, address, b-days, peoples names, something someone told you, appt. and others) but also not being able to multitask anymore. And some days it's just a fogginess in your mind and you can't seem to think clearly or keep on task. Hope that helps. It's probably a little different for everyone.

I have fibro fog. It frustrates me many times when I am told I repeat myself. Often I can't remember when I have said something to someone. My sweetest son in the world gets frustrated with me when I can't remember things, or I may remember only part of a situation. People unknowingly hurt my feelings when they bring up comments and say things like "That's not what happened, that's not what was said etc. I then feel I have to defend myself and apologize to family and friends that my perception of things are different than the way they see or hear what I have said. I do my best but so many times feel misunderstood. I can't explain why my fibro fog happens it just does. I feel I shouldn't have to explain memory loss and just want friends and family to accept me the way I am. I feel people always want to change the way I express myself to suit their needs.

My fog can be as simple as walking from the living room to the kitchen and forget what I was in the kitchen for. Everyone is different as to what their "fibro fog" can be. I've even had days where I felt hung over and not had any reason to be hung over. It's crazy
