Prozac For Fibro
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I see that Prozac is used off label for Fibromyalgia pain and sleep. I am looking for alternatives to Cymbalta after taking it for two years and experiencing no pain relief, and some unpleasant side effects. Has anyone else had experience with Prozac? Does it cause weight gain?

Ask your doc about savella. I've been on it a month and can already tell a difference. It helps a lot with the pain and I have more energy

I gained a lot of weight on prozac! And I didn't eat any differently than usual. Cymbalta didn't help any. Savella didn't touch it either. This disease is evil!!!!!

Only Cymbalta 60 MG helped me. I had taken lower dosages and it did nothing so a neurologist pit me on 60mg and it helps a lot.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Either Fibro has progressed ALOT since I was diagnosed, or Cymbalta causes me worse muscle pain. The Dr. and Pharmacist both told me that is not a possible side effect but I would still like to come off it just to make sure. Other than that, I have gained about 30 lbs in 2 years. I tolerated it well compared to other meds I have tried though, and it has helped with anxiety and sleep issues.
