I see a rhuemotologyst. But since I am back on Tramadol they want me to see a pain management doctor as well . Tramadol is not a addictive med. so I am not sure why . Anyways . My doctor agreed if I call her directly when I need refills and see her every three months she won't send me . I am not sure where you live. Here it's a law if you take any addictive meds you have to see a pain management Doctor . I guess you need to first find out how familiar is this doctor with Fibro and does he believe in it ? If he does not believe in Fibro I would find a rhuemotologyst that does and add him to your list of doctors you see regularly.

My pcp sent me to a rheumtologist she never addressed the fibro just the ddd,djd and arthritis my pcp did the testing to rule out everything else but she said she knew what it was that I had before the testing'

Where I live, Tramadol is now a controlled drug and I have to sign for each batch I'm given and it is proven to be addictive which is why its been reclassified. I don't see a pain management doctor anymore but I am lucky enough to be under the care of 2 Neurologists as I also had a stroke a few years ago which added to my pre existing fatigue. My flare ups are much worse now and I get so low because my body has so many things wrong with it now and my mobility just worsens.

Tramadol is addictive and they are trying to get it classified as a narcotic

My rhuematologist is the one who ruled out autoimmune disorders and found that I have HLA-b27 gene. He ordered the MRI of my SI joints and found the osteoarthritis causing my back pain. Luckily it hasn't progressed to ankylosing spondylosis yet and I don't have the uveitis yet. He order the PT. 80% of his patients are FM. That said, he said FM is "a nerve problem". That's the only education he gave me. The Celebrex he ordered made me dizzy. He hasn't done anything else to treat my FM. None of my doctors have done much so I decided to see a natural path doctor who also has FM for alternative treatments. At least she spends time explaining things to me and I have felt better with the supplements and treatments she's doing.
