Is It Worth The Price To Try Lyrica?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2007. I've tried a number of meds, from Cymbalta to Gabapentin. My fibro is getting much worse. My new rheumatologist wants me to go off of the Gabapentin and start Lyrica with flexeryl. The Lyrica will be $119 per month, out of pocket. Is it worth it to give this drug a try? I can't even lay in bed anymore, I'm in so much pain. I can only sleep in a recliner. I can't remember the last time that I had a good night of sleep. Thanks for your help.

Hi it definitely works for a lot of people and as someone suggested ask your doc for a trial pack I am sure they all have them. Someone suggested a coupon sounds worthwhile checking it out. I do recommend to keep the drugs to a minimum. You can also take magnesium supplements which work on the muscles and stop spasms and cramps. Don't forget to tell your doctor your monetary position because they can often help with extra information. Give it a go you ca't lose.

Here in Australia we can get a Magnesium mix as a vitamin. I am not aware what is available in Ameruca but I am sure you can get it. You need to take it for at least 3 months to feel any effect. It works on the muscles, without it I get debilitating cramps in my legs but with it I don't suffer. But unfortunately you need to take it forever! There is an American website that I read everyday and you can get a welath of information it's www.webmd.com

I started taking the Lyrica. I am liking it so far. It helps me sleep, but I'm not groggy during the day. I'm on 75mg, twice a day. The pain is better.

I would get some samples first of Lyrica, it swelled up my feet like marshmallows, LOL
My friend has good results with Cymbalta but it made me crazy.I can't get Flexeril refilled since I turned 65 with my supplement insurance, so I'm taking something else. Started with one and didn't get the relief I was getting with Flexeril so she said use two, that seemed to make a difference. I have used Flexeril for over 15 years along with Klopin (anxiety).

Yes, Lyrica is worth trying. I understand your hesitation about the price. You can look up Lyrica online for a coupon or get the phone number of the manufacturer of Lyrica. Let them know you cannot afford the medicine and ask for help paying for it. Also, your dr if he has any samples.
