physio can make your symptoms much worse as you are working muscles you would not normally work which puts extra pressure on your muscles causing them to tighten and cause you more pain. I have tried different forms of physio and swimming had to stop them all the swimming gave me terrible leg cramps I think the cold water didn't help of the swimming pool. Gentle exercises is best short walks even if it just to walk around your home for 5 minutes this is enough each day do not over exert yourself as you will pay up the following week with stiff muscles and pain.

Have seen many different physiotherapists over the years. They vary so much. The best ones I have found will pick exercises to suit you individually rather than exercises for a whole group of people to do, they should also brake an exercise down into smaller more manageable parts for you if you re struggling. I can not kneel so when others in a group were doing an exercise involving kneeling the physiotherapist had me just concentrate on just the very beginning of the exercise which was just to allow my knee to touch the grown with no pressure on it,and when this was too much she let me have a cushion on the floor and I just had to let my knee touch the cushion. There are also different types of physiotherapy . Hydrotherapy I have found to be good , some stretching and tia chi. Can take a while to find the best physiotherapy for you. But don't give up if your first experience of it is disappointing, is worth trying different types and plus different instructors.

It does help, if you get a good therapist that helps you with posture and exercise techniques but you have to start slowly, don't expect to do a big work out, you will be in more pain afterwards if you ask too much of your body, start with small walks on level surfaces, 5 to 10 minutes a day, then gradually increase, combine this with stretching, again here, never go further than you can, listen to your body.
