Members shared their varied experiences with duloxetine's side effects, with many describing initial nausea, dizziness, gagging, insomnia, and feeling high or jittery that often improved after the first few weeks or when taking the medication with food and plenty of water. Several members found relief by starting at a lower 30mg dose, taking it in the morning with breakfast, and using medications like lansoprazole for acid reflux or domperidone for nausea, though some stopped taking it entirely due to severe reactions or concerns about weight gain and difficult withdrawal symptoms. A recurring theme was the challenge of balancing fibromyalgia pain management with medication side effects, especially when caring for children, with members emphasizing the importance of listening to your body and advocating for adjustments or alternatives when a medication feels wrong.

Duloxetine (Cymbalta ) I take in the morning at the end of the breakfast so it is with food. Drink lots of liquids after. It did at the beginning make me sick and jittery and heart racing and feeling like throwing up or fainting. Now after a month of being taking it regularly every morning I don't have bad symptoms. It does I think help me with all body pain, less headaches and I am not that cranky and weepy.
So my advise would be , take it in the morning with food, drink a big glass of water and see how it goes. If taken at night it gives me aweful restlessness .

I have 4 kids too :-) fibro is hard with kids!! I tried lyrica but I found it almost put me to sleep on my feet, I couldn't function to take care of them, so had to stop taking it. I take solpadol now and am addicted to the codeine, but one battle at a time! Xxx

I'm on 60mg in morning and 60mg at night. Think sometimes it's hard to tell if any of the meds are working, even if you reduce a dose, sometimes thw side effects of that make things worse. I am starting to think image be better off not taking any of them

I was given 60 to start with and felt high as a kite all day and very dizzy and was sick in the evening. I asked the doc to reduce it to 30 and I've been on that since but not sure it's as effective anymore.
