I am having surgery on Monday for a umbilical hernia, I was wondering if anyone has some helpful advice on how to deal with fibro and surgery. Right now it's a stressor just to think about it. The surgery will be done with a open procedure.
I will pray for you. I will be going through surgery also soon to have thyroid removed n also I think 4 stints put in and I am worried myself. I'm sure while in hospital they will keep pain under control. I am worried about the after.... You're not alone! Hugsss
I will be having my bladder tied soon. I hope they don't find anything else. I'm worried about not being able to drive my dad to and from dialysis. I am hoping we all do okay because we are use to our "regular" "normal everyday" pain.I will say a lot of prayers for both of you.
I never realized I had fibro when I had my surgeries. It didn't seem to have any effect on me, other than normal.
I had the surgery for umbilical hernia about 7 years ago, now another one is back. The surgery is reletively ok, just don't lift or strain for a few weeks, mine was cut around belly button. In my case my muscle wall was diagnosed as weak after my first surgery, so now the second one has a high failure rate. I wish you all the best, good luck and I hope you feel better soon x
Hi June, I am a nurse and it was making lifting, pulling people up in beds hard. Had surgery on Monday it was about the size of a fifty cent piece with some abdominal fat pinched in it. Was tender prior but really didn't feel that wonderful after. Hopefully everyday it will get better.
