Prickly Sensation
Hi- does anyone get painful prickly sensations- esp in the arms?
Even though I'm a healthcare professional it took me almost ten years to really understand what the prickly sensation was. Its called Peripheral Neuropathy. Its an issue usually reserved for ppl w/diabetes. But we see alot of ppl w/FM that complain of it being a problem. My feet feel like I've standing on the old milk crates w/the holes in them. My hands and feet both tingle, burn and ache, constantly. I've found relief in taking amitriptyline twice a day. I've seen other medication advertising relief from FM pain. As I expected, they didn't work. And they came w/more issues that we too much for me and my poor body. I do have my extremities falling asleep, going numb, if I sit in the same position more than, say ten minutes. So if I were you I would speak w/my physician and inquire about amitriptyline. It helps you sleep throughout the night and it does help alot w/the peripheral neuropathy. I wish you better health. Gentle Hugs.
Yes I got this the other day. Kind of felt like a mild electrical current in my left hand and fore arm followed by reduced feeling and movement that seemed to travel upwards.
Mine is in my right outer thigh. Its number tho I can feel it and it gets very sharp prickly pain and at time sharp knife stabbing pain while prickling and god forbid I bump into something........OUCH
Ditto. I just started gabapentin which is helping.
My extremities and hands and feet all have occasional numbness.
