What Do You Do For Exercise And/or Weight Loss?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know how important exercise is for fibro, but what do you do when you are in total pain? It seems like each type of exercise is just too excruciating (either during or afterwards) during a majority of days. I enjoy exercising when I'm having an easy time.

Also, what is your strategy for eating healthy when you are too fatigued and pained to cook or go to the store? I find I end up eating fast food or junk a lot of the time because it is easy.

I was told many years ago by my chiropractor to try water aerobics. I have been doing it ever since. The water is so much easier on the muscles and joints. And it is also a great work out as well. I also try walking when I can. You don't have to go far but just moving yourself helps. And as far as eating is concerned I have my carbs and fruit in the morning and then protein, veggies and fruit for lunch and then just protein and veggies for dinner. I've lost 10 lbs so far. I enjoy eating salads and if I don't feel like making a salad I get the prepackaged already chopped up lettuce and Lean Cuisine makes Salad additions. it's everything you need except the lettuce. It's easy and it taste great.

I always keep a few Stouffers frozen dinners.(my fav). Also, I found a "skinny bread" sandwich thins. They are made by ARNOLD and I think Weight Watchers has one, They are great for a quick sandwich with deli thin turkey. Mustard has 5 calories a teaspoon. We occasionally have homemade oatmeal at dinner. Raw veggies and a dip. You can do a lettuce and turkey roll -up, nuts, esp.almonds, boiled eggs. Edame and Sugar snap peas.

My grandfather used to joke that he was on the See diet. I see it, I eat it. That's my biggest problem with healthy eating- I don't mind taking the time to plan and prep, but the minute I walk by something tasty or if I have anything good sitting in the house it doesn't take long for me to cave.
