Sugar, sugar , sugar..I've tested this after having it for 18 yrs. I'm a believer, sugar is your enemy!

I recommend an elimination diet. Basically, you eliminate for two weeks any foods that COULD give you a negative reaction (i.e. sugar, caffeine, alcohol, dairy, gluten, fruit). This gives your body a chance to reset and get rid of those allergens in your system. After the two weeks you add back one item a day. If you have no bad reaction, you can add another item the next day and so on. If a food causes symptoms, then you have to add it to the no-no list and then wait at least one full day before trying something else. I do elimination diets every once in a while (I'm on one now), and I recently had a bad reaction to salmon that I wouldn't have noticed when my symptoms were so strong. And yes, my fibro symptoms are so much calmer after starting the elimination diet. Thankfully, because the doctors are sure not interested in helping me!
Whatever you decide, I wish you luck and symptom improvement!

I think it really depends on you. I read this book with my friend "The Wahl's Protocol" it is about a doctor who got MS. Well she treated herself with diet, and she believes it doesn't matter what autoimmune you have they are all the same they attack the body, and she feels fibromyalgia is autoimmune because your body is attacking itself. The diet she has is the autoimmune paleo. I am in stage one. It is a great read

I also recommend an elimination diet. I for years followed recommendations of my doctor's and eliminated wheat, dairy, corn, sugar, nightshades, etc. Nothing worked. Did the elimination diet with chemical allergy testing and found out that my allergies were a big cause of pain and fatigue. I never would have discovered my allergies if I didn't go through the elimination process and chemical sensitivity testing.
