Do Your Veins Hurt?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Alamogordo, NM

So there are times that I swear my veins are on fire; I have expressed this to Doctor's in the past and they look at me like I am nuts, or they tell me "you cannot feel your veins, it's just in your head"

Does anyone else experience this? If so what do you do to relieve it, if anything?

Thank you
Angel

Members validated the experience of feeling like veins or body parts are burning, with many sharing similar sensations in their feet, calves, hands, and arms that doctors often dismiss or struggle to explain. Several members offered practical relief strategies including warm Epsom salt baths, heating pads, and gentle movement, while others suggested the burning could be related to overactive nerves from fibromyalgia or nerve damage rather than the veins themselves. A recurring theme was the frustration of being told these real sensations are imaginary, paired with deep empathy and reassurance that others genuinely understand and believe what the original poster is experiencing.

My veins hurt like they are bruised. I can see what vein hurts because they are bluer and look like the are inflamed. The areas that they mostly hurt are my breasts, hands and arms.
I have mentioned to my doctor as well and she looks at me like I have 2 heads.

I can have times where I feel like parts of me are like burning or on fire. I have not noticed me describe it like my veins on fire. But I believe you! I know extra stress really brings out the fire feelings.

I feel this burning sensation mostly in my calves. Sometimes using a heating pad helps. I also take warm Epsom salt baths. Hope you feel better soon!
