The glands on my neck and under my chin are always sore. I've had two ultrasounds in the past six months to check my thyroid (I have nodules). Both ultrasounds showed swollen lymph nodes. I was sent for blood work to check for certain other illnesses but wondering If it could be a Fibro symptom?

I suffer the same thing chronicly. One of my ultrasounds came back looking suspicious, so I had to follow up with a biopsy. Thank God they were benign. But I have to have them checked at least every six months. But anytime I overdo it or I get overly stressed my lymph nodes automatically get swollen and I get flulike symptoms up without a fever. I did a little research and it turns out it is one of the many ugly symptoms of fibro. I feel like my body is always attacking me in one way or another.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Fibromyalgia often, but not always, occurs in tandem with severe fatigue, brain fog (sometimes called “fibro fog”), and/or multiple chemical sensitivity. Other symptoms can include:
Sleep disturbances, which can be both cause and effect of the pain
Irritable bowel syndrome, or digestive disturbances and pain; this is essentially fibromyalgia of the bowel
Numbness and tingling
Swollen lymph nodes
Mood swings, depression, and anxiety
The pain of fibromyalgia often worsens with even a small amount of exertion, and it takes a lot longer to recover after exercise compared with a healthy person. Hope that this helps and can help you to relax and not worry. Hugs

When I was 13 or 14 I had mono. A lot of people I've talked to have had mono also. One of the main symptoms of mono for me was : horrible fatigue, swollen and painful lymph nodes, and all over pain. Its a lot like fibro. Has anyone else had mono in your life and now have fibro?

I just read something kind of scary. There's a Dr. In my city that has a clinic dedicated to ME/CFS research. I went to his website and he said he has found a significant number of CFS patients have undiagnosed thyroid cancer. 6000 in 100000 compared to the general population which is 1 in 100000. Yikes!
