Good Doets
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was wondering if anyone has tried diets to control this disease. I have been researching different diets for it, any recommendations

I felt so much better when I went on my Candida diet, had to give up gluten, dairy and sugar. Ate more greens but wasn't allowed to have fruits because it had too much sugar in it. After a while your body stops craving all that stuff and you start craving the stuff that's on your diet. The only thing my Candida diet didn't help with was my CFS. All my digestive issues went away, I slept better, my fibro pain was better, just couldn't quite do anything for my Chronic Fatigue.

I use a program through Arbonne (and I am a consultant) - it promotes eating clean and detoxing. I love it because it identifies foods that I should and shouldn't eat and the Vegan Protein drinks are amazing. I gained so much weight from overeating to cover the nauseous feeling I had from all the meds I'm taking - was totally surprised that drinking the shakes was enough and side effects didn't bother me at all! I've been super successful with weight loss and just feel much better when I'm on the program (which I stay on now)!!! It's also Gluten free if that helps which I've heard many say that they feel better when they go this direction. Hope this helps - would be happy to share more info :-)

I wanted to post a link to this book, but it won't let me paste it, but I can tell you, go to Amazon and type in The Candida Control Cookbook by Gail Burton. It has a lot of information about what to eat and why, and lots of excellent recipes from entrees and appetizers to desserts without sugar.

I went gluten and sugar free. I lost 20 lbs that had crept on for some unexplained reason but seemed to parallel the development of symptoms. I don't feel as bloated which was another thing slowing me down.

I would love to try a program like that but finances are very tight with me and being gluten free is a financial hardship right now. I will keep it in mind. Thank you
