Shingles
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

If you have had shingles in the past can this be a trigger for fibro.
I have not been diagnosed at the moment but I'm showing all the symptoms. X

I had chicken pox as a kid and shingles twice as an adult. I got the Shigrex Vaccine, it is not a live virus and shouldn’t cause shingles, though it has swollen glands and joint pain. At the time I go… read more

Are Showers Painful?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’ve seen several posts where warm or hot showers are recommended for pain relief. I sometimes experience extreme pain from a shower - to the point of tears and I have a high pain tolerance. Has anyone else experienced this?

Electrical Shocks
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi! Wondering if anyone experiences electrical shocks throughout their body? I get them so badly my body actually moves on it's own. If I get one in bed, my whole body raises off the bed. Once, while drinking a glass of water I got a shock and hit the glass into my teeth. No broken teeth...that time and I hate drinking out of plastic! :)

I went to a MAPS clinic, just once...and when I told the PA about the above, using the bed as an example, I was told it was probably static electricity in… read more

My And Me
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Do any others that use marijuana for pain management have difficulties feeling out of control of your bodies? I take a very small bit of special Chocolate...made by natives from the reserve nearby. When I am in so much pain even breathing hurts. It makes my pain tolerable but leaves me so high I am afraid to move.

Anyone Else Have Severe Difficulty Getting An IV?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’ve had a dozen surgeries and every single time, getting an IV is horrific. Aside from complications (the catheter can’t go in far enough, vein collapses, hematomas, no viable vein to poke, blood clots after removal) I have a high level of pain with the IV. I can feel the catheter in place, i get a “shock” feeling and severe burning when they push fluids or meds and it just plain hurts. I never know if my pain tolerance is just low because of the fibro or what, but I honestly suspect I can just… read more
