Shoes And FM
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I thought I had bad feet and bad shoes, which would make everything hurt, right? Dr. said no, you have great feet. Then why is it the last time I wore dress shoes, I threw them in the garbage when i got home? From standing too much! Yikes, gimme a stool. I'll buy it myself! Back to the subject: who still wears cute shoes, and if not, what? (M/F/X can answer)

I get Orthotics & special shoes with more space for my feet from a foot specialist called a Pedorthist, or Chiropodist.

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have flat feet, which causes more pain than normal for fibro. I wear arch support but seems to be getting worse. I plan to go see an orthopedic dr. soon. Anyone else have this problem? What do you do to relieve stress?

Does Anyone Have Problems With Wearing Certain Shoes?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am having problems with my feet and the shoes I wear. I can seem to find the right shoe for formal wear. I used to wear heels and now it seems I can't no longe wear them.

A MyFibroTeam Member

I can’t wear heels either anymore. I have a beautiful pair of black leather high heel sandals, I can’t get rid of them though. I’m going to save them.

Dress Sheos
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Can anyone recommend a comfortable dress shoe? Three of my work places require dress shoes, but it has become increasingly difficult to stand. I used to be able to wear high heels all day with little issue, now I can barely wear flats. I own Clarks which are very supportive, but not enough. I have tried on Dansko shoes but they are never cut right for my feet.
Similarly, does anyone have any techniques to save your feet after a long day of standing?

Look up Born shoes. I wore them my last few years working. Not cheap but well worth the money.

Plantar Fasciitis
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have Plantar Fasciitis? My feet are killing me lately, especially when I first plant my feet on the ground every morning. After doing some research, I'm pretty sure it is Plantar Fasciitis. I have flat feet and it says that is one of the causes. I will be seeing a foot Dr. to confirm. If anyone else does have this, is there anything that can help the pain I the meantime?

What Brand/style Of Shoes Do You Wear?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

How long do your shoes last and what specific brand and style do you wear? We all seem to have the painful feet.

A MyFibroTeam Member

I wear Easy Spirit because I have a 6 Narrow foot. I have to buy my shoes online because no one sells them that small here. Their Romy walking shoes fit me very well and they seem to last a long time.
