Tips for navigating this site

Tips for navigating this site

In conversations on this site I've seen some great navigation tips. Could we add the things we've discovered here so everyone can learn from each other?

For example search for the Q&A titled "Questions& Answer Links Tip" (which is a did-you-know about clicking the Q&A tab on the menu vs. the Q&A tab under your profile.)

My ex: when you have a question to ask, it seems you'll get many more answers by posting it on the Q&A board than by just posting it on your… read more

Toe nail pain...???

Toe nail pain...???

Has anyone else ever experienced pain in the big toe nails? My pain is always worse in the morning and I can barely walk. I walk around the house stepping gently on my heel and putting no weight on the ball of my foot. Part way through the morning it seems to ease up which is why I think it could be a form of morning stiffness. The toe nails arent in great shape but the pain I have is typically along the nail bed where my nail is actually healthy. Might not be fibro related at all, but… read more

Coming off painkillers with having fibro :(

Coming off painkillers with having fibro :(

I have had fibro for a few years and am currently taking Cymbalta, Topiramate (for Migraines) and recently changed Gabapentin to Pregabalin, so on 25mg twice a day. However I have changed doctors surgery and my new G.P, although really good, have said I have a painkiller addiction (zapain) and overusing which is causing me massive headaches and she has great concerns about near future liver damage. Also I was taking quite a bit of Tramadol due to zapain giving me… read more

HELP! A host of new GI symptoms, does anyone have similar?

HELP! A host of new GI symptoms, does anyone have similar?

Hi.
So last christmas I started having very strange stomach issues. Always been sensitive to foods, but this is a whole other level! I can't eat more than a handful at a time, in addition to a long list of no-foods; sugar, fat, grain, most dairy, red meat, anything processed or that converts to sugar too quickly. Baiscally, only "real" food I can eat is veggies. That does not agree with living on campus.
Done loads of tests, gastroscopy, ct with contrast,… read more

How do you manage self-care while working full time and living with Fibro?

How do you manage self-care while working full time and living with Fibro?

This last year i’ve worked really hard at self care as a result of being the most unwell i’ve ever been. My symptons have been a bit better recently and the introduction of Lyrica has help too. So self care and new meds have combined with lots of sick time off work and a slump in business (ie extra time off), which has improved my health.

Now i’m feeling a bit more in control of things i’ve been back to work, business is pickkng up,… read more
