Neuro means nerves right and pysche is mind? There is a connection between our minds and body that can cause pain- the pain is real and not "in our heads" but at the same time it is possible that it is not structural and that the brain is amplifying normal pain into heightened sensations of pain. There have been studies on chronic back pain and neuroplastic pain - where they can help people get out of chronic pain that they have had for years. I don't think any large scale studies have been done with this kind of pain processing therapy and fibromyalgia but it is being discussed and I hope they will do studies soon! There is a book called "The Way Out" that discusses neuroplastic pain that I just read which was recommended by my neurologist. I am going to try the techniques and see if it helps. I will report back! Good luck with your exploration and hope you find relief!
