Elimination is a good process for any person, if they take notes and a diary to see patterns firstly by eating a normal week. This way can see if any foods are particularly bad physically as well as general Mood/sleep/fategue etc.

My body is optimal when mostly clean keto..

The problem is you really need to prepare as much of your own food from scratch.
Too many Hidden additives, sugars /Sweetners that still have adver
se effects. Some arent requited to be listed in nutrition chart on back of prepared food.

Good healthy fats.. Seed fats and processed oils are terrible.. Avocado, macadamia, good olive oils. Or animal fats only.

Getting enough nutrients is often where oeople react badly. Supplement if needed. However crusiferous veg with most meals will help Gut biome, and are very dence in nutrition.

Water, water, water.. U need drink so Much more than other diets.. ( water is stored in carbs ordinarily in the body. . 4g water to 1 g carb roughly.)

No diet or sugar free drinks. You can have Black coffee/tea or green tea. Or. Count the carbs in milk. 20 to 30 grams of carb a day can be hard to achieve when drinking tea or Coffee a lot stevia or monkfruit being only decent sweeteners that keep u in ketosis.

If u cook its not actually expensive, even organic meats and veg.. Especially if u do intermittent fasting also.

The main benifits i feel are lack Of inflamation in joints, due to gut health improvement. Combined with weightloss further relieving joint and bone pain.

I follow a pre-diabetic diet, which has helped me lose weight, has decreased pain and fatigue, and my hair is thicker.

I've been on keto twice. Holidays tend to pull me off. First round in 2019, I lost 15 lbs in 3 months. Second round in 2020, I lost 29 lbs in 6 months. Hubby joined me and lost 37lbs. Yes, you must make all your own food, but the energy boost is well worth the effort. I didn't notice a huge change in my muscles at the time, but when I went back to regular food and sugar, I noticed a severe increase in pain and fatigue. By smart planning, keto isn't too hard. You can fix a big batch of food for dinner, eat it two days, then freeze up the rest. I measured mine out and wrote on the freezer bag what was inside. On days I had no time to cook, it was a blessing to have several frozen meals available. Stopping sugar for me was easy because I stopped sugary drinks years before and I find Stevia to have a great taste. I ordered The Complete Ketogenic Diet for Beginners for recipes, but in truth, by joining a free online keto blog, you'll get fabulous recipes for free. Just about every recipe out there now has a keto version to match. Want pizza? Search pizza keto and you'll find it. Shortbread cookies? Got ya covered. Chocolate candy...easy. I make Red lobster cheddar biscuits all the time and even my non-keto friends love them. For "sugary" drinks, we make raspberry tea and sweeten it with Stevia. There's several levels of keto. My hubby only needed to cut carbs down to 25. I had to cut carbs down to 19. Once you get a few recipes under your belt, you'll find the keto diet to be incredibly easy. Replacing noodles with zoodles was great and even off keto, we prefer zoodles. I'm starting back on keto this week. Regarding elimination diet. It's a great way to find your triggers, but I found it to be really difficult to do.

I started Keto Dec. 2019. Was very strict for about 6 months. Lost about 20 pounds generally felt better, in reference to pain levels but it didn't completely remove them. After the 6 months I went straight carnivore which actually is much better for me. I was strict until probably the beginning of this year and started adding a few things back in. Trial and error but it helps you know what triggers you. If you don't know or aren't aware, check out Susan Norton regarding oxalates. She has some great content on YouTube.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I planned on starting keto again on Sept 1st, but messed up every day so far. Lol. The trick to getting into it is resisting the obvious carbs for at least 3-4 days. After that you'll notice the cravings will start subsiding. By one full week, I found them completely gone. But that first week is just as hard as quitting smoking. Sugar really is addictive so not easy to stop. I just returned from a week with my sister's and we splurged on lots of no nos like wine and chocolate. But getting back off those will be easy because there's a keto recipe for chocolate candy...any kind you want! Wine is easy because I replaced it with coffee. My hubby makes us keto friendly flavored creamers for after dinner ice coffee. I just keep telling myself, "Anyone can resist anything for three days!" So last night, I was pretty close to being good and I'm down 1/2 pound which I know is water weight, but it proves I'm headed the right way. Since returning from the sisters vacation, I've lost 2.5 lbs...just by avoiding refined sugar. My arthritic joints are already feeling better! And my energy is slowly returning. I've exercised two days in a row, so I'm on my way! 😃👍
