We are told that it is in fact not a progressive disorder however id personally disagree, thoughts?
Yes for me after 25 years.. i wish drs understood this
It does get worse with age. I worked full time for 7 years after diagnosis at a job that was extremely stressful. I worked my full-time busy position when 2 other admins quit, they gave me their full-time responsibilities. I was working the workload of 3 full-time Admins at a major hospital. I did great for quite a while, however it started getting worse and I think stress was a major factor. I finally had to stop working at the advice of my 3 doctors. It's not just the physical aspect. (Thru medical testing, I discovered have many other things besides fibro) but it is also the mental brain fog that comes with Fibro that gets worse. I needed the clarity, the organizational & multi-tasking skills that I used to excel on, which now I can no longer do. Fibro makes it very difficult to concentrate and stay focused.
Sadly Yes I have found that Fibromyalgia gets worse over Time, also over time you get more Symptoms as well.
The pain has gotten worse as well and in more areas of the body.
Doctors and Specialist need to check out Fibromyalgia, properly instead of relying on old research that is out of date. Because Fibromyalgia is Progressive and you can end up with other health conditions, because of the body having to go through intense Pain Levels.
That is my Opinion and what I have been going through over the years that I have had, Fibromyalgia and Costochondritis.
Seems like the doctors say no but the people who actually live with it say yes x
Mine has been progressive. Gets worse every decade.💗
