Anyone Suffer With Tinnitus???
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know I can't possibly be alone in this. Any suggestions on something to ease the noises in my ears...

I get the mosquito high pitch noise in my right ear and ticking mixed with a chorus of crickets in my left ear. Usually, it's accompanied by a build-up of fluid that's not draining properly, and my allergies...which in Florida is year-round. My doctor has me using an over-the-counter nasal allergy spray, a 24-hour antihistamine, guaifenesin (Mucinex), and Sudaphed to promote drainage and dry it up. I wear a mask whenever I have to expose myself to the outside air or vacuum inside. I had no clue so many people with fibro had these problems. My allergist said it kinda goes hand in hand in her experience. She sees many patients who have fibro that also have inflammatory responses to allergies.

HI. Yes I have it. I ALWAYS have an earbud in my ear. With stuff to listen to. I have to sleep listening to the Bible or something. Silence makes me insane.

I have it! It's awful! its like you cant never be alone, in silence. It's so sad, and when I'm stressed or tense it comes out like waves, its so awful. This is one of the symptoms I most truly hate. Hopefully the neurofeedback treatment I'm gonna start next year may help with it.

If you have a drainage problem, try a decongestant.

I listened to my doctor about treating my symptoms daily for two weeks. I was taking a 24-hour allergy pill, mucinex to thin out the gunk, sudafed to thin and dry out the mucus, daily allergy spray that had steroids in it for inflammation, a mask anytime I had to go outside my house, and Tylenol for pain. What joy! But the crickets and the clicking eventually subsided when the pollen trigger also backed down. I still have the mosquito noise, but I can tolerate that a lot easier now that I've endured something worse.
