My daughter says her throat feels tight around the front of her throat and can't swallow bigger pills, food most of the time. Accompanied by lack of appetite. Anyone else??
Sorry to hear your daughter is struggling. My daughter is the same. I would suggest getting her throat checked to make sure there is no physical cause first. If all is ok then there is a high possibility that it could be caused by anxiety which can cause the throat muscles to tighten and feel like there is something stuck which in turn makes you not want to eat. I hope she gets it sorted soon x
Yeah anxiety can do lots of strange physical things. When she is eating stuff she likes it could be that shes consciously thinking about swallowing the food at the time rather than just eating it. I would reccomend a trip to the gp as they can check her throat and make sure that theres no problems if it is psychological then they can diagnose and treat that too x
If she is struggling taking pills then try and take them in some soft solid food eg yoghurt, jelly, peanut butter etc x
Yes at times my throat feels like that
So yesterday she was gobbling down a bowl of guacamole and chips, obviously no problem swallowing that!, so I said now swallow the pills! She did! So we discussed it being more of a mental thing but could also be her throat was already working.. I don't know... sometimes it happens with food she actually wants to eat though and can't.
