Flexeril
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've read its a med you can only take for 2 weeks maximum? Five, seven and ten milligrams.
When taken for Fibro is it a lower mg? Or, how can it be taken long term?

I just read a study/trial that is having great results with a bilingual/under the tongue for of Flexeril for Fibro. They said its the first med in ten years that has shown progress! This is why I started asking about Flexeril.

I had a tingling tongue after the injection . The nurse warned me that was a side effect . They gave me a Benadryl and kept me for an hour and had an epiPen ready . It’s very very rare .

I couldn't take Flexeril. I did have luck with Skelaxin but am now taking Zanaflex. I've been on muscle relaxers for years so don't understand why there would be a two week limit. The trick is to find the one that works the best for you.

If you both continue to take it, it must be doing something for you? Does it help with pain? I've had Fibro for 15 years and I have never been offered it or have heard it was a Fibro drug. May have to look into. Don't like to take anything unless it helps. I'm already on thyroid med, Gabbapentin and antidepressant. Hate to add another, ugh!
