Reactive Arthritis From COVID-19
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just saw this case from July of the 1st reactive arthritis case stemming from COVID-19. I want to inform the community here because none of the tests run on this patient would have diagnosed him ... so be vigilant. This virus has more tentacles than any monster out there.

My great nephew now has an enlarged liver thanks to covid-19. So sad that a huge 6'11" beautiful super strong 20 yr old (he could hold off 3 guys at once!) has now been reduced to a guy who fainted walking up stairs. He now lives with a possibly life-long ailment, all for a silly thing like sports. He and 36 teammates have now been exposed by a visiting team. This could potentially effect them the rest of their lives. It's crazy to have exposed them that way! Over sports?! Knowing, for so many people, how Fibromyalgia started with a bad virus, I'm expecting a lot of the covid-19 survivors to come down with Fibromyalgia. Watch and see.

I’m quite certain it has messed with the fibro as well. Seems like it takes little to nothing to set off a flare. If there is such a thing as a permanent flare - I’ve got it. I didn’t really need COVID on top of all this! ! !

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I’m so sorry to hear about your nephew. I also had covid, my parting gift was a huge blood clot in my abdomen that put me in the hospital for 10 days. The virus has also made my fibro worse. It’s sad that so many people don’t take this virus serious and worse yet, some people don’t think it exists 😡

I think you are right about several people getting fibro after having covid. In March of 2013 I had the flu that lasted about a month, I was so sick. Shortly after I had it, my health started going downhill fast. That’s when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 😟

⚘Hello Linda, I'm So very sorry to hear that you had covid 💔 Several members on here say the same thing about the after-affects of covid. I'm so sorry that you're experiencing this. How long ago did you contract it and what things have gotten worse? Has a doctor suggested anything that helps?

I've been very concerned about this virus being heaped on fibromyalgia.

How is your Thanksgiving shaping up? Will you be able to celebrate safely?

I hope at least today that you feel better💞 💐
