Scalded Mouth Feeling
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Those of you who have burning mouth syndrome or something similar, is it constant or does it come and go? If it comes and goes, have you determined what causes it to flare up? Seems like sometimes it is after chewing food, any food really, a portion of my tongue and gums and cheek feel scalded. After a while, it will calm down. No bumps that aren't normally there, no. Mine is in the back portion of my right side. Sometimes it feels scalded, sometimes like something is sitting on my tongue, etc.

I am loosing my mind over it . Its been maybe 3 month that I suffer with similar what you both described. I was anxious and afraid to even look inside my mouth because I thought its cancer or something. My mouth is so sore feels raw inside my lover lips mostly. It woild be ok then out of nowhere just starting to be very strange feeling. Sometimes I feel there is hundreds of cuts there sometimes I feel like I drunk acid, sometimes feels so smooth then otehr time I feel like my inside lips are bubbly just cant explain. Dose any of you two have some small bump inside its not painful? I am really worried about it. Its so uncomfortable 😔

I have it really bad. My mouth feels raw and sore always. Yes it changes from side to side or gums have canker sores that come and go. I can't eat citrus, berries, tomatoes or spicy foods. I bite the inside of my cheeks and my tongue hurt down the middle, underneath, and all along the ridge. Lidocaine is the only thing that makes it feel better and icecream 🍦. Nothing helps it go away. Horrible part of having fibro.
