What Is Your Job And Is It Fibro-friendly?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone just wondering what you all do for work. I’m a retail merchandise supervisor and it’s damn near impossible when I get a bad flare. On the other hand 8 hours of sitting is excruciating. I don’t know what to do, I’m wondering if anyone has found the perfect fibro job.

Im not sure if my job is the best fibro job but i have been massaging for 15 years. I have had fibro for 11 and got diagnosed about 5 yrs ago. I feel like on the days i massage i feel less pain bc im active and moving. I have thought about a career change but sitting wld hurt more. Plus i love helping others with pain. I feel like i was supposed to be doing massage to help others with chronic pain and i now i have several clients with fibro. I wld say moving is better. When im lazy all day i feel more pain.

I run my own business doing cleaning and light gardening for the elderly. It made a massive change getting out of teaching.

I would tell him that he keeps moving and moving up while I keep getting knocked down so I can't do but so much you moved I don't have a job and that's good because I don't feel like it anymore anyway so you figure it out since you have more sense than I do so knock yourself out and just let life flow don't worry about it just let life flow it'll be alright, more over move on, I'm out..

I work 30+ hours/week. I'm on my feet the whole time (except for my break). I'm usually so busy during the day, I don't feel the pain. But, when I get home, and on my day off, I'm exhausted and feel the pain. I love my job, but I don't know how much longer I can do it. I feel like such a whimp. I don't think anyone would understand if I say I can't handle it.
